One of the most popular chickens in America's back yard flocks!  The Rhode Island Red is a dual purpose, high production brown egg layer. Hens will lay on average 270 large brown eggs per year (about 5 per week) and should begin laying at about 5 months of age.
 
Rhode Island Reds are easy keepers, suffering few major health issues and do equally well in free range and confined settings. They are both heat and cold hard hardy and generally easy to work with.  
 
Roosters average about 8lbs, Hens 6lbs at maturity.

    We currently do not ship chicks at this time.  All purchases of live animals are farm pick-up only, or delivery may be arranged at buyer's expense.  Shortly after placing your order, we will contact you via email to coordinate a pick-up time or delivery time.

  • Health and Wellness Guarantee

    All live animals are guaranteed to be healthy at the time of sale.  Due to the fragile nature of poultry, all available quantities listed are estimates only.  Should you place an order that we cannot fill due to a qty error, we will either substitute the shortage with a similar breed or refund the purchase.
